Arrival at Tbilisi International Airport; transfer to the hotel, check-in. Explore the city. Standard check in time after 2 pm (early checkin subject to availability of rooms).
Visit Old Town – view from Metekhi, Metekhi Church, Peace Bridge, Narikhala Fortress - the main citadel of the city - wonderful views of Tbilisi, Sulphur Baths District - high in Sulphur and other minerals, with a constant temperature of 38C to 40C, the waters have long been used as a therapeutic aid for a range of ailments. Old Baths, Chardin Street, Old caravanserai, SioniCathedral. Visit also the Dry Bridge Market, Rustaveli Avenue and a prime Shopping and entertainment center among others. Afternoon, depart to Mtskheta and Excursion to Jvari monastery / sightseeing the beautiful rivers of Mtkvari and Aragvi. Return to hotel for overnight rest and relaxation.
Drive along Georgian Military Highway and visit Ananuri Architectural complex - former residence of Dukes of Aragvi region. Complex featuring churches and towers dating back to the XVI-XVII cc. is beautifully overlooking Jinvali reservoir. Stop for an excursion. Arrive in Kazbegi – a small town with the views of Mt. Kazbek - the seventh highest peak in the Caucasus Mountains. Mt. Kazbek is associated with myth of Prometheus, according to the legend he was chained on the mountain in punishment for having stolen fire from the gods and having given it to mortals. Hike to XIV c. Gergeti Holy Trinity Church located at an elevation of 2170 m under Mt. Kazbegi. The walk takes about 3 hours (4WD vehicles can be arranged on additional cost basis). Return to Tbilisi. Overnight at hotel.
Visit Kakheti, which borders the Great Caucasus range from the north Alazani Valley, known as a birthplace of viticulture and wine - making. Explore Sighnaghi, nicknamed as the City of Love. Sighnaghi is a fortified town famous for its wine and carpet making culture. Enjoy breathtaking views of Kizikhi area and unusual Charm of Sighnaghi Royal Town. Have a walk in narrow streets of the town in shadow of wooden balconies richly decorated with the lace of carved ornaments. Visit Tsinandali Family Estate and wine cellar, which once belonged to the 19th century aristocratic poet Alexander Chavchavadze. Also visit Telavi, the main city of the region. Drive back to Tbilisi for overnight in Tbilisi (Breakfast, local Lunch & Indian / Georgian Dinner).
Day is free for meeting friends and relatives and for shopping, till time for transfer to airport for the flight back home. You may return or can plan for an add on tour to ARMENIA (while booking itself).
